Short-Term Rehabilitation Therapy

Since 1928, Florence Nursing & Rehab has been providing professional rehabilitative therapy to residents at our Marengo, Illinois facility. Our rehabilitation services are custom treatment plans developed for the individual. Our specialists devise these plans with the goal of getting our short-term residents back home as soon as possible.

Our treatment plans are divided into three categories: physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Physical Therapy

The purpose of physical therapy (PT), is to restore movement, mobility and range of motion. After completing an assessment, our licensed physical therapists will assist with restoring a stable gait and proper posture. This treatment is available for individuals with fractured bones, joint replacement, or other post hospital recovery.
Occupational Therapy - Nursing Rehabilitative Therapy in Marengo, IL

Occupational Therapy

Our licensed occupational therapists (OT), help residents adapt to their daily life activities. Individuals will be evaluated to determine which area they need assistance. The focus is on them regaining the strength to complete self-care activities like bathing and getting dressed. Therapy includes re-educating the resident on cognitive skills, balance and eye-hand coordination.
Speech Therapy - Nursing Rehabilitative Therapy in Marengo, IL

Speech Therapy

Speech and language therapy is performed by licensed speech pathologists. Once a complete assessment has been completed, the therapists will determine which treatment plans will be most beneficial in improving speech, language, and swallowing skills. If it is determined the resident has swallowing problems, a restrictive diet will be recommended. When appropriate, non-verbal communication will be taught.
